SUMMARY:Teatro Dallas Presents 18th International Performance Festival
DESCRIPTION: \nJanuary 25: Belonging to No One by Robert Diaz (Colombia) – A solo piece of physical theater and new circus created and performed by Diaz. Inspired by the book of poems “Conversation in the Dark” (Conversación a Oscuras) written by the Colombian writer Horacio Benavides\, this work explores the echo of what war leaves behind. \nFebruary 1: Paper Piel by Jimena Bermejo\, Michael Figueroa & Chris Brokaw (USA) is a multi-disciplinary experience created by dancer and choreographers Jimena Bermejo and Michael Figueroa\, in collaboration with musician Chris Brokaw. Paper Piel explores the cartography of the body and its relationship to paper\, which is tied to the migration of information. \nFebruary 8: Xtabay (La Sombra) by Eduardo Savigon (Mexico) is a vanguard\, operatic\, blend of Mayan-goth. A performance based on texts by Edgar Allen Poe and Charles Baudelaire and directed by Eduardo Ruiz Savinon\, this original work is presented by Teatro Gotico from Mexico City. Xtabay explores the existence of our alternate\, shadow-selves. Can two selves occupy the same space? \n
